                                                                                                                                  SOPHIA

Hi everyone my name is Sophia just like that famous actress only I am much prettier than she is. My ears are much longer and my nose is bigger than hers. I am 4-5 years of age, housetrained, gentle, and very loving. I do not like the crate but the good news is I do not need one. I have wonderful house manners. I do not get on furniture unless you invite me up for a cuddle, one of my favorite things to do. I sleep on a dog bed in my foster parents room at night and never make a peep. I am a little on the shy side but love people and other dogs.

My perfect home would be to have people to love me, children over 10, a fenced yard and maybe a furry companion, though I would be just fine as an only dog. Want to learn more give my foster Mom a call.

WALTER    **** Adoption Pending *****

Hi there, my name is Walter. I am just about the best Basset in the
WHOLE world - at least that is what my Dad always told me.
Unfortunately, both Mom and Dad have become too busy with a new business to be able to give me the attention that I demand. Hey - I am still a
pup - and just about the best Basset in the whole wide world!! Since
being in my foster home I have learned that a playmate is a really neat
thing. Shelby and I play all of the time. Well, when we aren't eating or
sleeping. This is a cool home to be in but they already have a Basset
family (who do accept me, who wouldn't?). Now, if only there is someone
who can be able to spend all of their time and love on me, I know I can
return it all. And, a playmate would also be a plus!

                                                                                                                    Sweetie

Meet Sweetie! She is approximately 3 years old and has been in her foster home for a week now. Sweetie gets along well with her Basset foster sister and loves to PLAY most of the time. She especially enjoys stuffed animals and must have lots of them in her new home. Sweetie loves to run and play, therefore, she will need a secure, fenced yard. Sweetie is working hard on her housetraining, and with a regular routine, she will be potty trained in no time. She is very smart and has a cute personality. Sweetie loves children and other dogs. However, she is afraid of loud traffic sounds and some noises. If you are looking for a loving, playful companion, call about Sweetie today!

Sweetie Update: Sweetie has been in her foster home 6 weeks now and is doing great! She knows to “potty outside” and loves her treats for doing so. Sometimes she will bark and “ask” to go out, but she still needs to be on a regular potty schedule so she doesn’t forget. Her favorite toys are tennis balls and stuffed animals. She loves to cuddle and snuggle up to her foster parents. She sleeps all night in her crate and is very content. Sweetie is a very petite lady only weighing around 40 pounds. She gets along great with her basset foster sister and other dogs. Sweetie would love a family of her own!!

                   GERTIE

SBG (Single Basset Girl), 4 years old, looking for a LTR (long term relationship) with a forever family. Likes: running in the backyard, taking long walks, getting belly rubs, eating yummy treats, hanging out with the people I love! Dislikes: being left alone for long periods of time (but isn’t that true for everyone…)!

Gertie was surrendered by her owners who could no longer give her the time and attention they know she deserves. Gertie was loved but was left alone a lot so she is happiest when she knows that people are around. Gertie is taking medication to help treat her thyroid condition and lose a little weight. She is house trained, crate trained, and is comfortable around other dogs. Gertie is a true sweetheart who will give unconditional love and endless fun to any family willing to open their home and their hearts to her.

Roberta Koslosky - Monticello, IL
Mary & Al Blank - Port Byron, IL

Daisy a 2 1/2year old delicate featured female is an absolute dream. She can play with other dogs or watch them from a shady spot. There was no problem with her coming into a home with other dogs. She has not been introduced to cats or small or even medium size children. She does like to be very aggressive when she greets you and when she wants attention. Which only means that she will cuddle up to you and keep looking at you with those sad eyes. She is house trained and crate trained but does not use one at the time. We are able to put a gate up where her crate is in the hallway and she will stay there and sleep in the crate when we go out. Sometimes we cant find her and she has decided that she needs some quiet and there she is sleeping in her crate. She has no trouble sleeping thru the night till 7 or so in the morning, she does take her time when she eats. Getting her on your schedule would just take some patience and time. She has gone on short rides but no walks. Her barking is to an absolute minimum. She has just fallen into our family as if she was here from day one. Daisy is just a calm, loving girl who would really be a wonderful addition to any family.  #3824
