                                   ZEKE

Heads up to everyone looking for a young, energetic Basset. Zeke is just 7 months old and quite a charmer. Like all puppies, Zeke has LOTS of energy. He loves to play with humans, dogs, anybody or anything that will play with him. Zeke gets along with all his foster brothers and sister. He has a bunch of those......big dogs and little dogs, not to mention, LOTS of cats. Zeke is mostly housetrained, just needs the occasional reminder. He is crate trained, but prefers to be with his family. This handsome young man has shown no aggression of ANY kind. If you have a high energy family with lots of playtime energy to burn, Zeke is ready and waiting!

           DROOPY

This is Droopy; he is a 3 year old male tri-color with lots of freckles. He has only been in his foster home a few days but he gets along great with our other 3 bassets. He is a little underweight but seems to be filling out nicely. He weighs between 35-40 pounds now and looks like he will be about 50-55 pounds when he fills out. He is housebroken and has a sweet disposition, loves people and is great with our 3 young grandchildren. He is active, loves to play with his chew toys and other dogs. He loves to cuddle up next to you and lay on your lap. Droopy would be wonderful as a family pet.

                DAISY - 2

Here’s a riddle for you… What dog is black and white and just adorable? No it's not a Dalmatian. Give up? It’s me – Daisy. Since my name is popular in the basset community, I like Daisy-Daisy. A name so nice, you have to say it twice.

I bet you’re confused because you thought bassets were either tri-color or red & white. My coloring is unique just like me. I’m a senior gal (about 8 or 9 years young) looking for a place to call home. I know you might not be thinking of adopting a senior but seniors rule. I’m housebroken so you don’t have to worry about me leaving a messy present on your carpet. Unlike most youngsters, I’m easy-going. I don’t countersurf or get up on the furniture because that would be rude (this senior gal has manners). I love being around people but I’m mature enough to realize that people need some time to themselves. I’m not crated in my foster home since they trust me enough to be left alone (it’s a senior thing). I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home.

You might be asking yourself why a senior dog. Well think of that old comfortable pair of shoes or jeans you own. The ones you wear all the time. Sure they’re worn around the edges but they are so comfortable and you love them. Well senior bassets are like that. We might have a few worn edges but we are very comfortable to be around. Just because we aren’t puppies anymore don’t think we don’t have a lot of years left.

Forgot to mention something every important – my health. Oh nothing long-term. It’s embarrassing at my age, but I was heartworm positive. I’m finishing up my heartworm treatment. I’m recovering nicely – the vetman said in another couple of weeks I’ll be cleared for adoption.

If you want to know more about me, contact the nice people at GABR.           Fill out an adoption Application

                                                                                                                                                 CHILLI
AROOOO to all you Basset folk looking for a young girl that has it all!! You found me! My name is Chilli and I'm 1 year old, my birthday is June 8, 2007. I'm a petite gal weighing in at about 35 pounds. I could use a few more pounds, but I'm already beautiful. I'm pretty much housebroken, but you may need to remind me if I get into some serious playtime. Speaking of playtime.........my favorite thing. (next to eating of course) I love to play tug-of-war and fetch. I don't know a stranger and play well with all kinds of dogs. As with any true Basset, I love a good cat chase now and then:) I'm crate trained but tend to be rather vocal because I would much rather be with YOU. Are you ready for a perfect 10? Here I am!

                             MAISY
Meet “Amazing Maisy!” Why is she amazing, you ask? Well. . .this 6 yr old tri-colored female settled in to her new foster home in less than 48 hours, so well that we hardly know she’s here. And all seven of our other dogs - including a German shepherd and a cranky old beagle – liked her instantly. Maisy is 100% housetrained and already knows that bed time is 10 pm, so she goes right to her crate, although she really doesn’t need one at night (or any other time). She enjoys lounging in the big easy chair or curling up at your feet while you watch TV. Maisy is very gentle and easygoing. She is a small basset & weighs just 41 lbs.
She seems to adore men as she gets especially excited & happy to see her foster Dad. She does not like to be alone and may bark a lot if she is, so it would be best if she didn't need to be left alone for long periods. She’s the perfect combination of playful but laid-back, and wants to be a pampered house dog. We think she deserves it!
